There was a water main leak on the corner of GCR 5222(Bergamot) and 5223 (prairie clover court) on Tuesday. Luckily it was reported by a homeowner. We were able to isolate the damaged water line and stop flow. Approximately 40,000 gallons leaked before response. The Districts’ emergency excavator, Conroy Excavation has been contacted, and the initial assessment has been completed. Conroy Excavation and District Staff will repair the damage beginning Monday April 13th. Water service is not disrupted at this time. The drinking water is safe and secure.
The water district will contact individual owners that may be affected during repairs. If during repairs, a larger area needs to be isolated thus effecting more services, work will continue without pause until all services are restored with safe drinking water. We expect the work to take 2 days with minimal interruption to water services. There may be traffic detours but access into and out of the Lakeside area will not be shut down at any time.
This is a great opportunity to remind all residents to be vigilant and report any unordinary flows they may encounter in the community. Huge Thanks to Monica Anderson for quickly reporting the flowing water!!! Any water and sanitary sewer emergencies can be reported 24 hours a day by calling the District emergency on-call phone: 970-531-1945
Any NON EMERGENCY questions, concerns or comments about the upcoming repair can be directed to Thom Yoder, District Manager, 970-726-2839.
